The Kings Park City Lookout concept is based on the Kalbarri Skywalk ( https://youtu.be/O43tB12jfIc) that would replace the existing Kaarta Gar-Up viewing platform adjacent to Fraser Avenue (refer to pictures of the current viewing structure). The existing concrete platform and former Aboriginal Art Gallery (closed) need to be reinvigorated to reflect the more contemporary architecture developed within the Botanical Gardens.

The new City Lookout would cantilever over the escarpment and incorporate a new Indigenous art gallery, craft shop and local cuisine restaurant. It is also recommended that the structure be accessed from the Park and Mounts Bay Road via a glass lift and travellator. Boardwalk access is also proposed, linked to Jacobs Ladder and Mount Street Bridge into the City.

The City Lookout needs to be a unique, inspiring and memorable structure to capture and fully appreciate Perth's waterfront panorama. The Lookout location is commanding and must be celebrated as a monument on the Hill.
