The Marlston Hill and Marlston Waterfront projects involved the redevelopment of former port facilities and industrial land as an extension to the Bunbury City Centre to create a 'Port Village' atmosphere which reflects the fine-grain residential and mixed-use development already established within the Bunbury City Centre.

Key attributes of the project include the seamless extension of the Bunbury CBD' Main Street' grid and maintaining the fine-grained commercial and mixed-use character adjacent to the existing CBD. By incorporating traditional relationships of built form to streetscapes, with an understanding of contemporary architecture, the plan will facilitate the reunion of Bunbury with its harbourfront.
