The Brighton Hotel Redevelopment Project included the redevelopment of the historical Brighton Hotel, which encompassed an entire city block at the gateway into the Mandurah CBD and City Foreshore.
Initially, Cape Bouvard sought to demolish the degraded Brighton Hotel, which had been damaged by fire and neglected. This project involved extensive legal agreements, negotiations with numerous landowners and the provision of a 1.0M grant from the City of Mandurah in exchange for 3.5M worth of land, infrastructure improvements and car parking facilities for the City. A Developer Incentive package was successfully negotiated, including rates concessions, land transfer arrangements, development bonuses, car parking rights, site master planning, infrastructure upgrades, heritage grants and an employment development scheme.
The Brighton Hotel Precinct was the catalyst for the rejuvenation of Mandurah’s CBD into a vibrant waterfront designation.
